Our method

PikVex compares what Amazon sells on the evidence anyone can check. This page says exactly how that works, including the parts that limit what these comparisons are worth. If something here does not match what you see on an article, the article is wrong and we want to hear about it.

Where the products come from

Candidates are drawn from what Amazon lists in a category — search results, best seller lists and the movers-and-shakers feed. Nobody pays to appear, and no brand has ever asked us to include or exclude a product. We hold no inventory and receive no samples.

What the ranking is based on

Published specifications, star rating, the number of ratings behind it, and where a product sits on price against the others in the same comparison. Where a spec is missing from a listing we say so rather than guess. A rating with a hundred reviews behind it is not treated as the equal of one with twelve thousand.

How the text is written

Articles are drafted by a language model from that product data and then checked automatically before publication. The checks reject an article that links to a product it is not describing, that quotes a price, that claims hands-on testing, or that makes a health claim the listing does not support. An article that fails is not published.

What is never done here

• Nothing is tested by hand. No product is bought, used, measured or worn.
• No article claims an experience nobody had — no “we tested”, no “after six weeks”, no invented panel.
• No named author or expert reviewer is invented. PikVex is published by one small operation and is credited as the publisher because that is the truth of it.
• In health, beauty and fitness, no article tells you what a product will do to your body. Those pages report dose, form, count, listed certification, rating and price standing. Anything beyond that is attributed to the seller so you can weigh it yourself. Nothing here is medical advice.

Prices and dates

Every article says when its product data was read. Prices, stock and ratings move after that, so the live listing is always the authority. We never print a price in the body of an article for the same reason: a figure that goes stale reads as a promise we did not make.

Corrections

If a specification, a link or a claim on this site is wrong, tell us on the contact page and we will correct or withdraw the article. Corrections are made to the page itself rather than quietly deleted.
